Quantity Surveyor in South East England, United Kingdom
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Southeast London
Salary: £350p/d - £400p/d Outside IR35 (depending on experience)
We are a tier 2 rail contractor with extensive experience in delivering a wide range of rail projects. We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Southeast London. This role will involve working on various Network Rail schemes up to £10m with experience in rail ideally refurbishment packages.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all commercial aspects of projects including procurement, cost planning, contract administration, and final account settlement
- Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to manage project costs and minimise risk
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and budget reports for all projects
- Managing all commercial and contractual matters with clients and stakeholders
- Identifying potential risks and proposing effective solutions to mitigate them
- Managing the workload and performance of the project team
- Providing regular reports and updates to senior management on project progress, cost control, and commercial risks.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, with a focus on rail projects ideally refurbishment packages
- Experience in managing projects up to £10m in value
- Experience of working with Network Rail procedures and regulations
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project costs and maximise profits
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors.
