Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Southeast London

Salary: £350p/d - £400p/d Outside IR35 (depending on experience)

We are a tier 2 rail contractor with extensive experience in delivering a wide range of rail projects. We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Southeast London. This role will involve working on various Network Rail schemes up to £10m with experience in rail ideally refurbishment packages.

Responsibilities:

• Managing all commercial aspects of projects including procurement, cost planning, contract administration, and final account settlement
• Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to manage project costs and minimise risk
• Preparing accurate cost estimates and budget reports for all projects
• Managing all commercial and contractual matters with clients and stakeholders
• Identifying potential risks and proposing effective solutions to mitigate them
• Managing the workload and performance of the project team
• Providing regular reports and updates to senior management on project progress, cost control, and commercial risks.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, with a focus on rail projects ideally refurbishment packages
• Experience in managing projects up to £10m in value
• Experience of working with Network Rail procedures and regulations
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project costs and maximise profits
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Experience in managing and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors.
