Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Company Overview: We are a leading tier 2 railway contractor specialising in Network Rail contracts and frameworks. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional results, we have established a reputation for excellence within the industry. As part of our growth strategy, we aim to achieve a turnover of £30 million by 2025. Currently, we are embarking on an exciting project based at London Bridge, involving a £5 million internal fit-out package for various offices, shops, and facilities within the station. To support our expanding operations, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
Job Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of cost control and commercial management for our London Bridge project. You will be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered within budget, monitoring and reporting on costs, and providing accurate financial forecasting. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of this prestigious project.
Responsibilities:
- Implement effective cost control systems, ensuring accurate and timely reporting on project costs.
- Carry out thorough measurement and valuation of works, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing any cost variances or potential risks.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to manage contractual matters and resolve any commercial issues.
- Assess and negotiate variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the project's commercial activities.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and project management team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with experience internal fit-out packages.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage project costs effectively.
- Proficient in using industry-standard software for quantity surveying and cost management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and meet deadlines.
