About Us: My client who is a dynamic and innovative construction firm are currently seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team and contribute to the successful delivery of a £22 million station redevelopment project.
Position Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the redevelopment of a prominent station, overseeing the financial aspects of the project from inception to completion. The project includes the construction of a brand new station building and an enlarged ticket hall, doubling the size of the existing hall. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a trans-formative project that will enhance transportation infrastructure and contribute to the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial aspects of the project, including cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and identify potential cost variations.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and analyse tender documents and procurement strategies.
- Provide accurate and timely financial advice to the project team.
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure they align with the budget.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Professional membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a track record of successfully delivering construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement methods.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in the use of relevant software, such as Excel and project management tools.
