looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor to To administer all commercial aspects within your allocated portfolio of multidisciplinary light rail projects, to deliver maximum commercial results.

ESSENTIAL:

• A minimum of 3 years post-graduation construction cost or quantity surveying
• Working knowledge of finance systems and various forms of contracts
• Strong commercial, management and communication skills
• Experience of leading a team of building professionals
• Experience of delivering Rail projects
• Experience of cost management for design and build construction projects, value of works from £5m - £20m or more.
• In-depth working knowledge and understanding of various procurement methods, particularly two-stage D&B procurement.
• Experience of managing multiple stakeholders.
• Chartered Quantity/ Building Surveyor
• Membership of the RICS or similar professional body.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with the SQS you will lead, manage, develop and train the commercial teams across your portfolio of projects
• Raise commercial awareness and embed commercial focus
• Assist on all contractual matters
• Assisting in the preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, drawings
• Assist in the management of the Risk & Opportunities process to allow for the identification of Risk and Opportunities
• Manage budgets ensuring all costs are correctly allocated into the relevant WBS
• Assist in the establishment of robust project life cycle cost forecasts
• Proactively drive the recording of all contractual entitlements
• Establish and maintain rigorous cost controls including early warning systems and provide robust accurate financial data
• Provide procurement support to ensure each project is delivered safely, timely, at the least cost and to optimal quality.
• Ensure all procurement expenditure has been validated by the operational delivery team and identified under the budget as necessary to deliver the project
