Do you have experience working for a subcontractor or an SME business? Are you experience with Highways or Building Refurbishments? Do you want to have more exposure within your next role and have room to progress? If yes, then my client, a fast growing Civil Engineering contractor, is looking for a QS to join their newly formed Highways division focusing on prestigious Highways frameworks for local authorities and private clients.

The successful candidate will embark on 3 new Highways frameworks all of which will focus on a variety of NEC and JCT contracts which include upgrades to dual carriage ways, re-surfacing, drainage and general civil. The candidate will also be involved in a Building and Refurbishment schemes to likes of schools and fire stations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years within a Quantity Surveying position.
  • A degree, or equivalent, in either Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Knowledge of either NEC or JCT contracts.
  • Experience working with a subcontract or SME within construction.
  • Ideally worked on either Highways or Building Refurbishment projects.
  • Innovative and drive.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities for tender submissions.
  • Evaluate tender submissions and recommend suitable contractors based on cost and quality.
  • Monitor project costs, identify deviations, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Administer contracts and manage contractual agreements between stakeholders.
  • Assess progress claims and certify payments to contractors in line with project milestones.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate project risks.
  • Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial analyses for project stakeholders.
