Frameworks Recruitment are delighted to be working with one of the UK’s leading Rail and Civil Engineering contractors , engaged with recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on a freelance basis ( we are also welcoming candidates who are looking for their next permanent opportunity) to work on some of the North Wests most complex and challenging Rail Construction projects.

You will be working on predominantly Rail Civil Engineering packages. Project values will vary, but tend to be on the larger side stemming from £10m-£25m.

The projects are based around the North West and this will be a project based role

As a Senior QS, you will be working closely with the Senior Management team and need little in the way of training. You will be responsible for the following:

• To assist with managing a commercial team, and where applicable operation staff as the Senior member of staff on a designated projects
• To provide feedback on deviation from cost bill
• Prepare and accurately forecast final accounts
• To develop strong customer relationships with key clients and their officers
• Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
• To manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting
• Liaise with the Project Managers over contractual issues and take action as required
• Manage the costs on the projects to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation
• Assisting the development and training of trainee and assistant surveyors
• Negotiating and Pricing Target Costs for future contracts awarded through Frameworks agreements
• This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior QS, who has extensive experience working on a variety of Rail and Civil Engineering projects preferably in a principal contractor environment.

You must have a full driving licence, as travel will be required to sites.A PTS Card and ICI would also be desirable.
