Senior Quantity Surveyor in Swindon, Wiltshire, Wiltshire, United Kingdom
My client a specialist rail signalling and technical delivery contractor is seeking two Senior Quantity Surveyors to join them at their regional office in Swindon.
As a successful applicant you will be joining the business at a key time as they complete their current portfolio of works and bid for future projects.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Alongside supporting the day to day business tasks, you will carry out but not be limited to the following;
- For Frameworks and Minor projects prepare weekly and monthly reports for resource revenue.
- Collaborate and co-ordinate with the wider business to prepare applications, and orders.
- Change management and cost control
- Project set up in to WBS and Activity Schedules.
- Prepare cash flows
- Evaluate deliverable and costs against revenue forecast.
- Support project managers
- Support Procurement, Labour, material, plant reconciliations.
- Check and review quotes to be submitted within tenders.
- Contract administration – Capable of reading simple contract data, and forming notes and opinions for review.
- Identify and analyse costs to completion for minor projects.
- Final account preparation, review, hand over and close.
- Generate & Pursue Revenue - Capable of being organised, a systematic approach, and accountable for owning projects.
- Data Collation - Ability to collect data from multiple sources in order to produce various forms of revenue, requiring an organised, thorough and approach.
- Data Management - Ability to use Sharepoint and Xero (training to be provided), plus a number of office MS application (word, excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
- BSc in Quantity Surveying/Project Management or Construction Management or similar or equivalent experience.
- On top of your enthusiasm, we require you to be; Analytical, accountable and organised,
- Approachable with the ability to communicate to fellow employees on numerous levels.
- Proactive and supportive, with the ability to undertake tasks to completion.
- Possess excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to use Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Individuals with Quantity Surveying experience gained in the rail sector are encouraged to apply, however civil engineering experience coupled with strong contract negotiation / management ability can also be considered.
This opportunity is office based, however a flexible working pattern can be considered with business need also taking priority.
