The upgrade of the UK rail network continues at pace, with the immediate horizon full of opportunities associated with HS2 and the development and upgrade of existing infrastructure. If you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to join an organisation leading the charge in the rail sector, then look no further!

The role

This office and site based Senior Quantity Surveyor role will be responsible for the full commercial management of critical signalling upgrade programmes around the UK. Work packages will incorporate all GRIP stages including design, installation, testing and commissioning for multi-disciplined works.

It is a genuinely unique opportunity to be involved in flagship programmes that will transform how the railway works for passengers and freight users, upgrading critical infrastructure to create a more reliable and flexible railway.

You will be responsible for cost management, forecasting and reporting whilst operating as the key commercial interface between all project stakeholders including suppliers, sub-contractors and of course your client. Your role will be critical in the successful delivery of the programme within cost and time constraints.

Remuneration

Basic salary is subject to experience and is accompanied with ‘big company’ benefits including generous pension, holiday entitlement and bonus. A flexible benefits package is also offered.

About You

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with demonstrable experience in the delivery of railway infrastructure projects. You will be familiar with Network Rail as a customer and the critical commercial considerations of delivering high value packages of works in this sector.

You will hold or be working towards professional qualifications with RICS or IACCM
A track record of leading and mentoring commercial colleagues will be advantageous, alongside exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

The role requires you to be mobile for projects and will involve both office and site visits. You must be prepared to offer energy and flexibility to ensure projects are delivered!
