Senior quantity surveyor

Location - West midlands

Rate - Competitive

We are recruiting for a Senior quantity surveyor, you will be working for a Tier 1 contractor based in West Midlands on a 6 to 12 months contract.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the commercial management of £13M worth of civils work along the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill tram route.
• Works include construction of new road, retaining walls, track lay and installation of new street lighting and traffic signal controls systems.
• Controlling and managing costs for all self-delivered works.
• Monthly reporting of project commercial performance to senior project management (CVR).
• Develop strong customer relationships with key clients and their officers
• Producing cost forecasts, accrual reports and monthly project progress review reports.
• Identifying risks and opportunities and monitoring spend against budget and advising strategies to achieve maximum commercial value.
• Negotiate and agree contractual disputes and final accounts with supply chain.

Requirements

• Have a relevant degree and ideally be Chartered
• Have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor at Senior level within rail industry
• Have experience working on projects within Infrastructure and have a working knowledge of the NEC form of contract
• Have good communication and client facing skills
