Senior Quantity Surveyor

A leading rail engineering contractor is looking for a Senior QS to join them in their Glasgow office on a number of rail electrification schemes across Scotland. They are open to QS who have strong construction based experience, ideally within the rail industry.

The position will also involve:

• Analysing quotations and placing official orders
• Compiling and comparing subcontractor tenders
• Valuations and cost reports
• Meetings with Finance and Project Team
• Identifying and valuating site instructions and extensions
• Allocating work to subcontractors

 

Experience and Qualifications:

• Understanding of contract document preparation, contract management processes and procedures
• Experience of assisting in the handling of claims and disputes
• A working knowledge of procurement techniques and contract forms.
• An understanding of commercial and financial reporting within a project, programme or portfolio environment
• Degree qualified with BSc Quantity Surveying is desirable
• Experience of assisting in the handling of claims and disputes.
