The Drainage & Off Track Team measure drainage asset capability on the railway network. The key part of the role is to act as an expert in the evaluation of the drainage system arrangements within the railway boundary. The role is at the front of Network Rail's investment process and is fundamental to developing a forward programme of renewal and strengthening. It is an excellent opportunity to develop asset management skills whilst also developing technically robust processes
As an Asset Engineer your main responsibilities would be:
- Manage the assessment of drainage layout arrangements that form a complete system consisting all drainage assets
- Checking and approving data captured by examiners ensuring they are compatible to be uploaded on to Network Rail’s Ellipse database
- Engaging with examiners and Drainage Champions to interrogate the quality of captured data, and providing guidance to examiners to make necessary corrections to ensure quality of data is not compromised
- Supporting examiners, if need be, with understanding on drainage system works and providing guidance on how drainage data capture should be undertaken
- Making cross reference with other Network Rail asset registers to identify potential synergies or conflicts and to ensure all possible drainage assets are included as part of this project
- Manage the overall process of approval of examined/surveyed data on Ellipse database
You’ll have relevant experience in:
- Rail background and knowledge
- Experience drainage engineer
- Experience in drainage systems
