SALARY: £450-550 Per Day (Umbrella)
THE CLIENT
My client is a multinational infrastructure group who are currently recruiting for a Track CRE to join them on a major Rail project on an initial 12 month contract basis. This role will fall within IR35 so we are unable to recruit any candidates who wish to be paid via a Ltd company.
THE ROLE
* Accountability for the day-to-day management and coordination of the technical and engineering activity on a specific sublot for Civil Engineering Construction aspects where there is a Rail Interface on the works.
* Responsible for coordinating engineering activity within their discipline from design through construction to test and commission.
* Review and accept the temporary works schemes on behalf of the construction organisation and ensure that, where required, that the client accepts their design before any work commences
* Review and approve Works Package Plans (where delegated by the CEM) and Task Briefings produced by the construction team and ensure these documents take account of all hazards identified, particularly those identified by designers.
* Carry out inspections on site and review of construction quality records to check that design has been installed in accordance with the design, NR and Group Standards. Verify construction as fit to be taken into use and complete Form 5 certification.
* Identify Engineering Change within the particular discipline of the works and report such change to the CEM and the project commercial team.
* Brief standards changes, relevant to the project, to key members of the team including sub contractors agency staff. Keep records of briefing.
ABOUT YOU
* Hold an HNC or higher in Civil Engineering or related subject
* Hold a valid CSCS card
* Hold a valid PTS card
* Have experience as a Track CRE
* Have excellent knowledge of completing Network Rail sites and paperwork
* Have experience in both civils and p/way engineering
* Good knowledge of railway civil engineering standards including but not restricted to NR/L2/CIV/003.
* Understands the requirements, roles and responsibilities with regard to CDM & CSM-RA Regulations.
* Experience has a Civil Engineer on a large/complex civils/infrastructure project, in a railway environment.
