Job Title: Rail Chainman
Location: Edgware Road
Pay Rate: £10/hr (dependant on experience).
Role Details
Our client, a well respected main contractor within the UK rail & civil engineering market is looking for a chainman to join their central London Cross Rail project which has recently commenced. 4 months work with immediate start for the right candidate with the possibility of this being extended to 6 months+
Main Duties
• Previous experience with surveying/setting out with GPS, Total Station and Levels.
• Assist the Senior Surveyors with Survey settlement and monitoring of the surrounding buildings and rail tracks to ensure movement is within the specified tolerances.
• Assist the senior personnel with weekly programme forecasts.
• On site coordination with subcontractors and the Construction Manager as directed.
• Assist with the as built surveys and redline sketches.
• Ensure that all work carried out is of the highest standard possible in line with the specification and within the required tolerances.
Requirements
The successful candidate will bring to the role;
• PTS/LUCAS or other current rail tickets an advantage.
• CSCS Qualified and a Civil Engineering qualification advantageous.
• Previous rail experience in the UK with LUL & Network Rail advantageous.
• Previous demonstrated experience in delivering technical information through on site setting out and supervision of construction activities
• A willingness and competency in order to step up into hands on site based role.
• Proven excellent communication and people skills
• A solutions-orientated attitude with a desire to progress within the Construction Industry.
