Rail Tunnel/ TBM Specialists (Design & Construction) - Egypt

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking a number of Tunnel Specialists for an ongoing Metro project in Egypt:

• Technical Coordinator for Tunnel
• Design Manager (Civil Work)
• Segment Manufacturing Supervision Leader

Opportunity:

Working as part of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) on behalf of the end client you shall be joining an international team who are responsible for carrying out the design and the Construction Supervision. The project is a long-term ODA financed project being carried out to FIDIC conditions.

Responsibilities:

Technical Coordinator:

Responsible for resolving design interface, issues between tunneling works and station works, by coordinating with Design Managers (Civil & Systems works) as well as Construction Manager (Civils & Systems works)

He will closely monitor the schedule and progress of tunneling works and coordinate with Planning & Document Manager as well as Planning & Structure Expert to resolve or issues on implementation programme.

Design Manager:

Responsible for revising and modifying the drawings of the Tunnel and Permanent Works where ambiguities, errors or mistakes are found in the drawings and changes are required by the interface Contractors or relevant authorities.

He is responsible for reviewing the design of temporary works and shop drawings prepared by the Contractor. He is also responsible for reviewing the construction/installation design of civil permanent works except the tunneling works prepared by the Contractor.

Segment Manufacturing Supervision Leader:

He is in charge of overall fabrication activities of segments

Key requirements for the role:

• A Civil Engineering degree (or related subject)
• 26+ years of professional experience
• 15+ years on Metro project, railway project or other infrastructure project containing tunneling by TBM ,
• Experience of large scale, complex Rail or Metro projects
• Previous International Consultancy experience ideally on ODA financed projects.
• Regional Experience

Language:

Fluency in English writing and communication

Salary Package:

The salary package on offer is around $10,000 to $13,000 per month tax free.
