The role

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Construction Manager - Track, to join the TRU East Alliance project team responsible for the delivery of site works through GRIP 5-8 stages. The position is based between York and the surrounding areas delivering an extensive programme of track renewal works.

The mission of the TRU East Alliance is to transform the East of Leeds route allowing people to travel faster, more reliably and in greater comfort between the North's great cities. Providing passengers with more choice, more seats and better facilities on a safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly railway.

Key accountabilities

You will be responsible for the supervision of Track/P-Way activities within multi-discipline construction sites to ensure safe delivery of the work against programme milestones. You will develop project specific work package plans, safe work packs and risk assessments for implementation by the site teams.

You will also be responsible for the site supervision of all staff and sub-contractors ensuring compliance with statutory, industry and company standards, safety requirements and to meet programme milestones.

Skills & experience

• Significant and demonstrable experience in a track supervisory role within the UK Rail industry is essential.

• Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures including ALO working.

• Ability to operate effectively both within a team and in the site environment.

• A proactive and responsible attitude with a high level of safety awareness.

• A flexible approach to work and be willing to work nights, weekends and lodge away from home as required.
