Company Information
An independent rail consultancy of 10 years' standing, with a wealth of experience and expertise across a wide variety of environments and disciplines is looking to take on a Construction Manager with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale Rail-based construction projects, to work on high-profile schemes across The Midlands
Seeking candidates who have;
- A track record of successfully working on large-scale Rail-based construction projects,
- Expereince in the management of multi-disciplinary railway infrastructure projects.
- Broad experience of new stations, footbridges, freight depots, car parks, feasibility studies
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification (desirable)
- Construction Skills Certificate Scheme accreditation (CSCS).
- CITB, Construction Site Manager's Safety Training Certificate
- Proven success working with Network Rail and a general understanding of the Network Rail processes and procedures.
- Possess a construction or other technical related degree, preferably in engineering, or a minimum of HNC in a construction related discipline e.g. Construction Management, Civil Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all physical works are carried out at construction phase in accordance with company procedures, Network Rail Standards and other relevant standards.
- To ensure that the correct design specifications are followed working within multi-disciplinary teams Maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders and clients. Act as point of contact on construction and safety aspects of the project
- Line management to 2 x Network Rail Construction Managers.
- Undertake and manage specific risk assessments with regard to health, safety and environment.
- Ensure that projects comply fully with all statutory and regulatory provisions including HMRI and the CDM Regulations.
- Monitor work progress and compliance to specifications, relevant standards and AFC drawings and collate quality documentation and records as required by the contract.
- Liaise with the Commercial Team to ensure that project change controls are captured and managed accordingly.
- Attend project, management review and construction team meetings.
- Review all method statements and work package plans, through to ensuing completion.
- Manage site activities and interfaces related to handover and close out of projects.
- Provide construction advice / input to other disciplines within the SLC team including resourcing of programmes, identifying and managing risk, undertaking regular site visits, managing Health and Safety paperwork and assisting in tender processes.
- Compile daily site diary and undertake regular site safety inspections and report all findings to the Project and Safety Teams. Elevate major concerns to the H&S Manager and ensure all actions are closed out as appropriate.
