Engineering Manager - Track

An Internationally recognised contractor is looking for an Engineering Manager to support all areas of this Turnkey High Speed Rail project in Egypt. The Engineering Manager will be specialist in Trackwork for the design & construction of the tracks of a High Speed Rail project across Egypt. The Contractor is taking this project from conception through to operation. This Engineering Manager will have expert will have experience in Rheda 2000 German slab track.

The area of responsibility contains the following tasks:

management of local Design & site supervisors Railway Infrastructure

coordination and advising of JV Contractors

review and approval railway infrastructure working procedure

reporting (e.g. progress reports, monthly reports, financial reports)

review of Contractors proposals for compliance with the technical requirements

supervising works in progress for confirmation of quality standards, safety, construction manner, and installation practices

review of design and supporting documents

site supervision

evaluation and approval of different Slab track systems

cost benefit calculation of ballast less track systems

definition and review of track maintenance concept

cost analysis in terms of long life system warranties

Education and Experience:

Dipl.-Eng. (TH/TU) or equivalent Degree of M.Sc. in Civil Engineering

at least 10 years of experience as Railway Engineer (planning and site supervision)

5 years experience with ballast less track different systems

experience with high axle loads and/or high speed lines

utilization of MS-Office and project management software (e.g. MS-Project, Primavera)

used to work as professional head in design or consultancy or construction of railway projects

ability of leading a team

strong organizing and coordination capability

above-average physical and psychical capacity

ability of working abroad in multicultural teams

customer focus

ability of working under extreme climate conditions

excellent knowledge of English (able to conduct business fluently, spoken and written)

prepared to relocate to china or to work worldwide
