Ensure that Projects are planned and delivered to high engineering standards and fully compliant to enable delivery and timely hand back well within requirements and expectations
Produce and assist in completion of:
- Time/chainage and or bar charts programmes aided by staging diagrams for core work activities
- Train matrix planning for stageworks using spoil and ballast calculations
- WPP’s, Task Briefing Sheets & mitigation plans
- ‘White Board Briefings’
- Technical budgetary considerations; including resource, materials & equipment requirements
- Critique the design and ensure buildability
- Explore opportunity to improve the design with regard to efficiency, budget and engineering focus
- Formulate stressing plans
- Manipulate external design data into standard BBR to enable effective setting out and installation; including generation of Scheme Sheets, Test & Inspection plans, As Built sheets, ALC/Matisa tamping files & 3D design files (e.g. Terramodel)
- Manage and implement the effective setting out of the renewal installation including the use of 3D control methods
- Lead, direct and monitor the on-site engineering works undertaken by internal & external staff for all site works
- Manage the engineering compliance of core renewals with the result of achieving acceptable levels of Track Quality
- Technical review of the Form A/B Design: Lift, slue & cant analysis, staging feasibility, ballast calculations, IBJ locations, stressing considerations, structure loading and clearances
- Management of Critical Rail Temperatures (CRT) information on all sites
- Act as the engineering liaison with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers where required
- Monitor the accurate and consistent recording and delivery of the as-built details
- Effectively communicate task requirements to internal & external staff
- Plan and optimise the work on a day to day basis
- Deliver the Project to time and within cost targets, interfacing with other disciplines as appropriate
- Identify potential variations to contract and opportunities for added value to the Project Manager
- Effectively manage the utilisation of plant and equipment on site
- Ensure that work is completed and documented in conjunction with the Network Rail standards & company procedure
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained, calibrated and documented to required quality standards
- Populate resource schedules in line with programme requirements
- Produce Health & Safety file information
Other business responsibilities
- Review new developments, techniques and working arrangements to ensure operation and sharing of best practice
- Conduct investigations and produce written reports as required
- Undertake projects and assignments as directed
- Contribute to the companies wider development
