Amey, in partnership with Arup, BAM and Network Rail is upgrading the route between Manchester and Leeds, which includes civils, track, railway systems and electrification. You will be pioneering new techniques, using the latest technology and helping us set new standards for collaborative working.
The role
You will work closely with the Track & Electrification (T&E) functional project teams, and the Alliance wide Business Systems and Digital Construction (DC) teams. As the Rail Digital Construction Manager, you will develop and implement new technology and systems within the DC and T&E teams. You will support BIM and all other data management systems as required by the DC lead.
Key accountabilities
You will:
- Provide support to the T&E team with DC management and assurance through both design and construction phases of all projects.
- Control and manage the safe, compliant, timely, effective, and efficient development and implementation of engineering technology and data systems for all T&E disciplines on TRU West.
- Work closely with the T&E, Business Systems, and DC teams and associated personnel.
- Integrate with all other Alliance teams as necessary to facilitate the implementation of the chosen systems and technology.
- Promote DC management and assurance within the wider TRU West Alliance team.
- Be responsible for managing the DC input / output to the T&E construction programme, and all aspects of the delivery of projects to the programme required.
- Participate with (and lead when necessary) the implementation of DC activities across the whole TRU West Alliance.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual, legal and special requirements associated with the systems being introduced.
- Actively participate in external (e.g. ORR, Client) and internal (e.g. Amey and TRU West) audits when required.
- Develop and drive forward innovation with regards to DC management practices.
- Assist the T&E Engineering Manager with DC management initiatives as required.
Skills & experience
You will have:
- BIM/DC implementor expertise with a proven track record in rolling out various digital technologies out across a businesses.
- Bachelor’s degree (or a similar approved qualification).
- Expertise with the BIM/DC modelling process.
- Experience of the Railway Operating Environment.
- Power BI experience.
- DC/BIM Qualification/certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and manage all stakeholders.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Strong leadership skills to build an inclusive and collaborative team spirit.
- Extensive ProjectWise, BIM360, Syncro, SharePoint experience.
