Section Manager (Track) in South Wales, Wales, United Kingdom
A Section Manager is required to join a rail Client based in South Wales. Based out of their maintenance depot, the successful candidate will have experience of working in the rail industry along with a good knowledge of railway practice. You will be accountable for managing a section of the rail network whilst leading a large maintenance team to deliver the work programme to performance, quality and cost targets. Having the authority to recommend any necessary inspections, maintenance and renewals of infrastructure assets, you will be responding to issues that arise, even when off duty. With safety as your top priority, the role will also involve planning, managing budgets and driving engagement and performance across the team.
With previous experience of managing the delivery of a comprehensive work programme, you will have the relevant knowledge of track maintenance, faulting, inspection and renewal techniques. As this role comes with significant responsibilities, you will be flexible and comfortable working a changing shift pattern. An ideal candidate will hold or be working towards an NVQ level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or can demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge through relevant experience. Furthermore, you will be an excellent communicator who is able to promote safe working behaviours within the team. Valid driving licence is required.
