Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Site Supervisor – Track to join our Transpennine (TRU) account in Manchester - on site role.
Transpennine Amey is working in partnership with Network Rail on the Transpennine route upgrade project since 2018, with an increased focus on providing reliable, frequent, faster, and greener railways to the North of England. Covering 76 miles of railway between Manchester, Leeds, York, Selby and onto Humberside, we lay the foundations, covering upgrades to civils, track, railway systems and electrification to the west of Leeds. By completing such works, we aim to support Network Rail with cutting carbon emissions and ensuring to deliver a smoother, more enjoyable journey to their customers.
Site Supervisor – Track plays an important part in supervising the management of staff onsite as directed. You will manage and control the ordering of resource /small plant & large plant effectively within agreed budget and unit cost measures, Assist the Construction manager with planning track renewals.
The standard hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week.
You will be responsible for:
- Supervise and check the quality of work delivered and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
- Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements and other instructions.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Undertake specific inspections in accordance with standards as directed.
- Prepare work and resource specifications and method statements including Safe System of Work Plans.
- Assist in the development of work plans that enables work to be delivered safely, efficiently and compliant to standards.
- Assist in the identification and proposal of asset renewals.
- Assist in the allocation of resources.
- Deliver work in accordance with the relevant maintenance plans.
- Provide appropriate information to update systems, databases and records.
- Undertake a programme of staff surveillance, work quality, compliance and asset condition checks as directed.
- Assist in the management, control and discipline of staff as directed.
- Contribute to your own development and that of others.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Similar Project experience with “hands-on” site experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and site experience in track renewals & maintenance
- Experience and knowledge of Large & Small plant
- Experience and knowledge of managing a small team
- Certified Personal Track Safety (PTS) with Track induction
- Full driving licence
- Commercial awareness
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
- IOSH Managing Safely (or SSSTS) - Preferred
