Main Duties & Responsibilities:
As Track Engineer you will contribute to HSR, conventional railway, Metro and LRT projects on their Track Design activities.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Contribute to initial review of feasibility studies, provide technical feedback and advice on possible technical alternatives and innovations.
- Contribute with the Track Manager to produce “Design Standard Manuals” covering Track design, criteria standards, codes of practice, specifications, methods, definitions, processes, procedures.
- Produce and control the technical deliverables for track (such as: inception report, schematic representation of Track systems, track layouts, cross sections, BOQ, others technical drawings)
- Contribute to the writing of technical notes, realise calculations or other technical design justifications;
- Analyse results and recommend to the Track Manager, ways of technical adapting requirements accordingly.
- Contribute on technical interfaces as necessary in coordination with other technical disciplines;
- Ensure proper integration and interfacing with Track across the various design disciplines/technical specifications/Deliverables.
- Contribute to specify all Track technical requirements (i.e. technical/functional and operational needs, applicable standards, laws, expected performance, …) and interact with the Track Manager for Requirement in that matter.
- Support, as necessary, the Track Manager in providing technical support in relation to the management of statutory approval of designs
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Intermediate Engineer with at least 3 years’ experience minimum (5 years are more suitable) in major infrastructure/transportation projects metro, LRT or HS;
- Technical knowledge in track conception design under similar Projects (HSL/metro/LRT);
- Good knowledge in technical standards for “state of the art” of the Track discipline;
- Ability in a certain autonomy to realize design and calculations tasks in the matter;
- Ability to analyze technical situations and propose solutions while respecting the conception rules and standards;
- make/substantiate technical choices and recommendations
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
