Role: Associate Director Structural Engineer

I am looking to place a Chartered Structural Engineer who has experience of operating at a Senior Management level in an international engineering consultancys office on the border of Surrey and South London.

This particular role has a mix of rail-related and some aviation structural design i.e. Overground and underground station new-build/upgrades, rail depots, airport hangars, airport design. Due to the niche type of structures, some experience with associated civil rail elements i.e. track, electrification and power, drainage, signalling, etc would be desirable but the rail-related structural design elements are more important for this role. As such, someone with experience of railway station design and construction, having undertaken design management roles or similar, would be ideal. Likewise, you may have acted as CEM or CRE on previous rail projects.

The firm currently have ongoing work on the Docklands Light Railway line, upgrading and refurbishing stations as well as various other stations on the London Underground in conjunction with Network Rail. The firm also has ongoing work with Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports, designing a range of new structures and civil infrastructure upgrades.

Due to the seniority of this position and the required sign-off/assurance duties, candidates are expected to be chartered with either the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE).

This role would suit engineers who are looking to take a step up in terms of their project and people management responsibilities as well as manage a broad spectrum of their own prestigious structural rail projects, or for individuals who are already in a similar senior design role but feel they could use a fresh set of challenges.
