E&P Project Engineer – Rail

6-month contract initially
£400 - £450 per day (UMBRELLA)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced E&P Project Engineer to work client facing on a Major Rail project in the North West.
You will work client side on a large rail infrastructure project as the site E&P Project Engineer, being responsible for the review of designs, quality inspections and ensuring rail standards are adhered to.
You will have a wealth of experience as an E&P Project Engineer on large rail infrastructure projects, have strong managerial qualities and stakeholder management skills.
Responsible for the effective project engineering service to ensure that assigned rail projects are delivered to specification in line with planned costs. Work with the Operations & Project Manager including the Procurement Manager to ensure that engineering work & variations are managed in accordance with the client processes. Whilst also being fully engaged with the client’s project team to ensure our contracted works are effectively delivered on time, to the budget and of the highest quality.
The Role & Requirements
- Responsible for reviewing and signing off health and safety WPP’s & TBS, be a leader for all Health and Safety matters
- Pre-commencement of the project, including all ordering key components and materials using our supply chain to meet NR standards and AFC documentation
- Risk Management (highlight and mitigate as necessary), plus identify further opportunities through engineering excellence.
- NR Compliance – review and evaluate the project requirements, ensure we meet the AFC specifications and drawings through monitoring the project, produce internal audits report to demonstrate this
- Monitoring and reporting progress to the project planner and submit reports both internally and externally
- Provide leadership to the site team and engage directly with the client’s professional team, ensuring all objectives are met
- Maintain close professional relationship with the clients and peers, optimising future opportunities to secure new works
- Project close out with the client, producing and issuing hand back documentation to sign off the works with the Construction CRE
