Permanent Engineering Manager needed to work with a large and always growing civil engineering and rail contractor.
My client is a well known and ever growing civil engineering, rail and build contractor who turnover in excess of £500m per year. This ia a privately owned business who thrive off their tight knitted, family run feeling who are looking for a new addition due to the team due to a £30m contract about to be won.
I'm currently looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to work on a £30m rail station upgrade contract in London. This is a 2-year contract where you will be involved in the lead in, delivery and post contract with a start in the next month. The scope of work will include platform extensions, S&C, structures, associated civils and build.
The selected candidate MUST BE degree qualified or high level qualified and a chartered member of a UK body.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provision of managerial and technical leadership in the successful delivery of projects, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Acting as Engineering Manager or Lead Project Engineer, as required to manage and oversee the deployment and development of staff.
- Acting as Technical Lead on multi-disciplinary bids and proposals.
- Identifying, understanding and promulgating client needs and expectations to ensure client satisfaction on all projects and maximising the opportunities for repeat business.
- Supporting and encouraging the identification and development of a pipeline of new opportunities in order to meet the operational and strategic objectives of WSP
- Supporting the development of tools, techniques and resources to meet the emerging requirements of the rail sector, consistent with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- As required, line management of staff including, but not limited to, health and safety, briefings and communications and general discipline.
- Managing the effective deployment of staff to ensure high levels of productivity, in conjunction with other managers within Rail, Technical Discipline Leads and managers from other business units.
Candidate requirements:
- Degree qualifies in Contruction, Engineering or equivalent
- Experience working with a recognised tier 1 contractor
- Have previous experience as an Engineering Manager
- Be a member of a UK body.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- A valid CSCS card
