OCS Engineer - California (Permanent)

EWI have an exciting opportunity for an OCS Engineer, to join a leading European Engineering Consultancy to join a prestigious High-Speed Rail project in the US.

As an integral part of the consultant team, you will provide direct support to the client Rail and Operations Delivery Branch across various services, including Asset Management, Rail Engineering Support and Oversight, Design and Construction Operations and Maintenance Oversight, Network Integration and Program Compliance, Start-up and Commissioning, FRA Certification, Rule of Applicability, System Safety and Security, and Track, Systems, and Trainsets Contracts Commercial Support.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the performance and quality of associated work under your assigned disciplines, with a specific focus on Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS).

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide technical railroad engineering advice to the client, based on European Standards (EN), specifically on the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).
• Coordinate with the client's Engineering Services Branch to ensure integration and compatibility of civil engineering and rail engineering products for a complete, functional, and certifiable system.
• Manage intermediate and final design submittals for the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).
• Oversee technical review management, due diligence checks, and compliance with technical contract requirements for the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).
• Review technical design reports and manage document submittals for the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree or an equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years of railway experience in the OCS field.
• Experience as an OCS Engineer, with the ability to analyse and provide expert consultation on designs during feasibility, preliminary, detailed design, and constructability assessment phases.
• Commissioning supervision experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Software used for OCS design (e.g. MicroStation and AutoCAD)
• Main line/heavy rail/High-Speed rail project is preferred.
