Overview

Our Telecoms and E&P group have a proven record for project delivery from large to small multi/single discipline projects, providing engineering support and assurance on numerous regional and national rail frameworks throughout the UK. Working with the Head of Project Engineering, we have a team of experienced, flexible and multiskilled engineers with the right-first-time approach to delivery on an exciting and challenging portfolio.

Due to continuous growth, Linbrooke Services have an opportunity for an experienced Principal Project Engineer to join our dynamic Project Engineering Division.

As a Principal Project Engineer, acting as either CEM or CRE, you will manage all engineering requirements, ensuring all deliverables have been provided.

You will support and encourage creativity and innovation within the engineering team whilst actively supporting process Improvements within the engineering function.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills as they will develop and maintain effective client and supplier relationships, collaborate with project managers and liaise with clients to establish project requirements.

Leading and coordinating the engineering functions within the project team you will ensure the successful and safe delivery of projects

You will take responsibility for the regular review and implementation of any changes in standards, regulations and legislations, Implementing processes and procedures described within the Linbrooke Services Management system. A successful candidate will act in accordance with the requirements of Linbrooke Services HSEQ policies and the Health & Safety at Work Act are adhered to and encouraged at all times.

Essential:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent team member with organisational and time management skills
  • IT literate – Microsoft Office including CAD software such as AutoCAD, Visio, MicroStation J.
  • Driving license
  • Good commercial Awareness/ Programme Management
  • Understanding and appreciation of applicable NR standards
  • Excellent experience and appreciation of project engineering, safety concepts and associated decision making as applied to railway systems
  • Professionally accredited in an appropriate discipline

Desirable:

  • 8-12 years’ experience in project engineering
  • Chartered Engineer/Incorporated Engineer
  • Educated to degree/HND level
  • Fully conversant with railway structure and associated safety matters
