The leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experienced Rail Engineer from a Civils background for a Supervision project in Ethiopia.

Opportunity

My client is a leading European Consultancy who are working on behalf of the end client and have been carrying out the Design Reviews & supervising the construction of this Rail extension project.

The successful individual shall be joining an international team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this project, supported by a strong team of engineers across all disciplines.

Job Role / Responsibilities

• Act as a representative on behalf of the Project Director and Railway Civil Project Manager for the responsible package. Support to assure smooth implementation in the construction supervision stage.
• Manage all construction supervision issues for the responsible contract package(s) in terms of time (schedule), quality, budget, quantity, safety, contract, environment, etc., as a representative.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and quarterly progress reports in a form agreed between the end client & financing institution.
• Prepare a construction completion report, which will be a compilation and condensation of the data presented in regular monthly progress reports, together with copies of as-built drawings.
• Attend the periodical site inspection during the defects liability period and order the contractors' actions to be taken and payment methods
• Support Project Manager for smooth implementation of the Project.
• Review detailed design of structural and civil works including embankment, viaduct, bridge, station, depot, crossing structure and drainage.
• Assist the end client in appraising bids as part of the bid evaluation process in civil packages, evaluation of the capacity of contractors.
• Construction supervision of civil works.
• Attend the periodical site inspection during the defects liability period and order the contractors' actions to be taken and payment methods.

Requirements

• Graduate in Civil Engineering
• Experience in Railway Related Field: 15 years or more
• Experience as team leader or deputy team leader during Supervision or Design

Salary Package

The salary on offer likely to be in the region of $7,000 per month tax free with additional allowances for accommodation, flights etc.
