Our Rail client is looking for a Part Time Rail Structures Engineer on a contract basis. Rates negotiable, contract ongoing. 2 days per week initially.
Job and Person Specification
Our client maintains a significant number of railway arches at Waterloo on behalf of the Department of Transport and also advises the Department on the condition of the former Waterloo International Terminal, now leased in part to Network Rail and in part to our client.
our client is also working in partnership with Network Rail and with Transport for Greater Manchester to develop land around stations, has recently undertaken a development of the Leake Street Arches at Waterloo, and is now developing the lower floors of the former Waterloo International Terminal as a new retail centre.
For all these purposes our client needs to be able to draw on expertise of railways structures and the associated rail regulatory environment, in order to understand their likely performance and maintenance needs.
Time Commitment, Location and Reporting
This is a part-time appointment, currently two days a week.
our client are based in London, with small offices in Manchester and Leeds. The postholder is free to work from home or from one of these locations.
The postholder will report to the Director of Asset Management.
Qualifications and Experience:
15 years relevant railway and bridge experience. Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
