We are a major supplier & maintainer of tramways, main line trains, metro cars, electrical renovation & signalling systems.
Reporting operationally to the Team Leader the technicians ensure that customer commitments are achieved and Alstom objectives are met.
You will be responsible for carrying out all planned and unplanned maintenance, fault finding and repair on the Nottingham Tram Fleet and for delivering Trams on a daily basis, to the client in a fit and safe condition for passenger service
You will be required to:
Ensure all faults and maintenance activities are recorded on the depot maintenance management system,
Be responsible for operation and maintenance of items of depot plant and equipment,
Implement all planned maintenance activities in line with the BT Operations and Maintenance Manuals,
Conduct fault diagnostic activities on electrical and mechanical equipment and rectify as necessary,
Make trams available in a fit and safe condition, on a daily basis, ensuring the contractual service requirements of the customer are achieved,
Manage tram systems, analyse fault data and report on systems performance,
Identify potential health and safety concerns and reporting through the correct channels,
Keep the working environment clean, tidy and to the highest standards at all times,
Continually search and identify ways in which processes and working practices can be improved,
Ensure problems with processes, tooling, working practices etc. are reported to Team Leaders and/or the Production Manager,
Ensure defective components removed from Trams are clearly identified with all required information and all material movements are recorded on the maintenance management system,
Identify potential tram improvements and feedback to engineering,
Support the Production Manager in meeting all contractual requirements,
Perform any other duties that may be appropriate.
Key skills and requirements for the role include:-
Practical experience and a sound knowledge of the mechanical, electrical and electronics engineering aspects of Light rail Vehicles.
Technical experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Competent in the use of PCs, including office packages, e-mail, intranet and fault diagnostics.
An Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC mechanical/electrical.
Excellent team player.
