Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are supporting our infrastructure technology client as they seek to appoint a Systems Engineering expert to support our client in delivering on a large infrastructure upgrade project for the London Underground systems.

The opportunity for the successful candidate has high scope for progression, as our client not only has a busy order book at present but also has some fantastic projects in the pipeline.

This role will provide the right candidate an opportunity to establish and initiate engineering processes for a large scale project which is based around upgrading current technology to more modern day products. You will develop / translate client requirements into detailed Functional Requirements / Technical specifications and identify value engineering opportunities to deliver requirements at reduced cost or duration, as well as resolving any issues that impact the project - so as you can see, this role is key.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop System Functional Requirements Documents and Technical Requirements Specification that demonstrate compliance with their client's Technical
• Provide requirements management, verification & validation services for all elements of the digital solution.
• Describe OPO system architecture and associated major technical interfaces.
• Establish monitoring of the changes to the baselined configuration in relation to the Software and Hardware development.
• Prepare and enforce controls of the baselined configuration.
• Prepare Verification and Validation reports.
• Oversee delivery of Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) services.
• Oversee delivery of EMC services for product approval.
• Provide guidance in the product / technology selection and implementation processes

Essentials & Desirables:

• Solid Systems engineering background from a Rail/Aerospace background
• Strong knowledge of the full Systems Engineering lifecycle - Including V&V, compliance, gathering customer requirements & design
• Experience of working on large scale projects and managing internal and external stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of working to standards (Rail: EN <phone number removed> or Aerospace DO178C)
