Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Detection Operator Red Book 3A Location - Newcastle upon Tyne Salary - £ 21,108 pa + applicable allowances and Local Government Pension Based at Nexus Rail Headquarters, Newcastle upon Tyne, the successful applicant will assist in the provision of ultrasonic/visual inspection (Non - Destructive Testing (NDT) of running rails. Your role will be to carry out ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrate tests and inspection processes of the running rails throughout the Nexus rail infrastructure business. You will be working within the Track Engineering Department and at times will be required to undertake Track Person duties. You will have previous railway experience, be capable of taking instructions and be able to work alone or as part of a team. It is also a requirement that you are computer literate and hold a full current UK Driving Licence. There is a requirement for Standby and Call Out with this post as per local roster. It is desirable that you have knowledge of computer based maintenance management systems as well as a sound knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety.
