Job Purpose:
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with claims background to be part of the project team and ensure that the project is successfully completed within target time scales and budgets and to be responsible for the delivery/compliance of Company and Product specific Commercial systems and procedures.
Key Duties:
* Develop/deliver an effective sub-contracting strategy with the Project Management team
* Sub-contract negotiations
* Establish an appropriate level of contractual commercial support commensurate with the project requirements to ensure all related aspects are managed to Project driven timescales.
* Ensure the commercial functions within the project meets both Customer and Company's expectations
* Manage the commercial risk review systems
* Maintain cost/value management systems
* Provide commercial reports for inclusion within the overall Project report for Board review
* Prepare claims documentation
* Ensure all processes and document control complies with the appropriate Company standards.
* Establish and maintain interfaces with key internal departments e.g. finance, contractors etc and also with appropriate levels within Clients organisation
* Manage External/Internal Change Management.
* Maintain the claims register
* Maintain complete/adequate claims records during the contract
Essential experience and skills:
* Collation of documents to support claims.
* Preparation of Bills of Quantities and the like to support claims.
* Preparation of graphics via PowerPoint and excel.
* Strong claims related experience.
* Engineering degree or quantity surveyor related qualification/experience.
* Collation of information from Correspondence, monthly reports, technical documents, meeting minutes, emails etc to support claims.
* Able to work under time pressure.
Desirable experience:
* Signalling claim related experience.
* Signalling or E&M engineering background.
* Able to read/write Chinese.
* Able to speak Mandarin.
