What does this role involve?
- Attend accidents / incidents affecting the safe Operation of the infrastructure as directed by route control.
- Where necessary and appropriate, undertake the role of Rail Incident Officer (RIO), take responsibility for the command structure being set-up and lead the co-ordination of the infrastructure and service restoration activities.
- Collate information and evidence to support initial investigations into incidents and provide reports as directed.
- Provide incident response cover for other Mobile Operations Managers (MOMs) as directed.
- Undertake operational support duties as required to include, but not limited to - Performance monitoring, seasonal duties, contingency planning, audit work and supporting engineering / maintenance works.
- Maintain response equipment in good mechanical order and keep vehicles safe, clean and tidy.
- Undertake duties in response to Route crime, including trespass & vandalism, graffiti and liaise with BTP in response to such incidents. Investigation work as required.
- Assist the Operations Team with all Operational requirements as directed to include, but not limited to Deputy Duties, location visits, competency evidence and Operations Manual procedures.
- Where competent work signalling locations as directed.
- Represent AKI and the rail industry with our Lineside and 3rd party Neighbours.

Amey is growing in Wales and our growth will bring transport jobs back to Wales and you can influence the future of Welsh infrastructure.
As the Managing Agent of the Core Valley Line (CVL) Transformation project, Amey is supporting Transport for Wales in the introduction of two new electric and battery powered rolling stock fleets. We are doing this by upgrading the railway infrastructure on the Treherbert, Aberdare, Merthyr and Rhymney valley lines.
Our Rail team has grown over the past few years to be one of the largest and most diverse rail organisations in the UK. From our base in Treforest and Taffs Well, we are moving into the infrastructure construction stage of the multi-million pound CVL Transformation Project. To help deliver this project, we are looking to recruit management and operational staff in, OHLE and power, signalling and telecoms, P-Way and civil engineering disciplines.
