BWP are currently representing a leading rail owner and operator who have an opening for a Network Operations Manager.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Articulate, develop and update the Network Operations department’s strategy in compliance with the organisations strategy, and leading its execution in line with company’s goals and objectives
- Monitor the financial performance of the department against the approved budget, ensure accurate and timely reporting on variances to the Finance Division and formulate corrective measures and plans to optimize financial performance of the division
- Monitor the operational performance of the department against the approved targets and KPIs, and take the necessary corrective and preventive measures, in coordination with the Corporate Control Division, to enhance performance and better serve the business
- Oversee all expenditures within the department and ensure that all departmental procurement decisions are taken in line with Finance and Procurement policies and processes
Leadership Responsibilities
- Set individual objectives of direct reports and periodically evaluate their performance in a fair, transparent and objective manner in accordance with policies and employee performance management procedures, and oversee setting of appropriate individual objectives as well as the performance evaluation of employees in the department
- Ensure that all knowledge transfer and individual development programs and plans for all targeted Network Operations employees are developed and implemented in cooperation with HR & Support Services Division
- Instill a culture focused on continuous improvement and positive change orientation, exercised through interactions with his management team, and encouraged through the design and delivery of change programs and initiatives including coaching and mentoring, and on the job training
- Follow up on the implementation of action plans and operational programs, and provide guidance and instruction to subordinates on appropriate solutions to resolve implementation issues
- Develop the manpower needs of the division in coordination with section heads and properly plan the optimal allocation and effective use of its resources in line with Manpower Planning guidelines
Operational Responsibilities
- Develop engineering advises to network planning team in order to support the utilization of network
- Support Project teams, acting as a Railway Operations Subject Matter Expert during all phases of project delivery
- Support the implementation and development of operational risk mitigation plans, to include Level Crossings, SPADs, Route crime, season’s management and other operational activities
- Support the Infrastructure Maintenance department so that maintenance activities deliver outputs required for train service delivery
- Undertake the role of Rail Incident Officer (RIO), overseeing that the command structure is set up and lead the coordination of the infrastructure and service restoration activities
- Develop and review network performance reports and highlights area of improvements
- Support NP&M compliance with the relevant operational standards, processes and procedures
