Your New Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Operations Planner to join our AIW Rail account in Cardiff working.

AIW Railway Project - AIW is the Infrastructure Manager for the assets across the Core Valley Lines network. The Core Valley Lines (CVL) programme of works forms a significant part of the South Wales Metro project covering a broad spectrum of rail type works, to both improve and renew existing assets.

Operations Planner to provide safe planning and compliance to standards and legislation to enable track access ensuring safe system of works are in place and adhered to by all works delivers. Clearly track access policies and integration of works. Deliver and continually improve planning systems and processes to enhance communication, collaboration and safe delivery from planning to delivery.

The standard hours of work are full time – 37.5 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

  • Plan and integrate all works required for the programme and proactively find solutions.
  • Consider all work methodologies and provide the highest safe system of work possible throughout the planning process.
  • Awareness and consideration of operational cost proactively reducing where possible.
  • Lead, manage and develop Assistant Access Planners and carry out PDR’s and training as required.
  • Collaboratively engage with delivery partners and key stakeholders.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively all operational planning to delivery partners.
  • Produce reports and KPI requirements as required.
  • Responsible for implementing core planning processes across the Transformation team.

An Operations Planner is responsible for planning possession, worksites, TSR and engineering haulage in accordance with Rail standards and processes.
