Job purpose
Site Supervisory Attendant, working solely on behalf of and reporting to Network Rail (High Speed)s NR(HS)s Outside Parties team, to attend on, monitor and report on the safe implementation of a subset of non-rail related building construction operations on non railway owned and controlled land adjacent to HS1 railway. NR(HS) acts for High Speed One, HS1. See below for amplification of duties.
Job Accountabilities
• Keep daily records of events on site this will be by way of completion of a daily worksheet which will record high level conditions such as weather and wind direction/speeds (as recorded by Met Office or plant on site) as well as ALL site information/activity as below;
• Record all site based activities and zones of each contractor attendance;
• Attend pre-works briefings / inductions and assess participant engagement;
• Attend and distribute tool box talks in regards to railway safety if required;
• Read and understand all applicable method statements and assess compliance on site;
• Liaise with CCL & subcontractor supervisors and report any transgressions for remedial action on site, produce a report with time line and statement of events and recommendations;
• Record progress and take periodic photos of key site activities;
• Check plant in use is operating as per Risk Assessments & Method Statements and daily check of slew limiters, alarms, anemometer, slings, chains and shackles are in date and 25% de rated;
• Check all safety critical personnel (operators, banksman, lift supervisors, slinger signaller etc) are in possession of relevant competence and are on site and engaged in role and not distracted;
• Attendance at meetings/workshops as required.
Qualifications
• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Site Supervisor card holder or Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) trained as a minimum.
• Candidate will ideally have a site supervision background and an appreciation of lifting operations.
• A HS1 Rail Safety Leader (RSL) competency holder is preferred but not essential.
• Danger Zone Entry Permit (DZEP) training will be provided by NR(HS) at no charge.
