Our client is looking to recruit a Drainage Engineer (Railway) to work within with the design and to check the latest Railway Drainage standards.
The successful candidate will be paid £30-£40 per hour depending on experience. The role is for an immediate start and could become permanent.
The successful candidate will be fully conversant with NR/L2/CIV/003 revision 2,3 and 4; Engineering Assurance of Building & Civil Engineering works and also have the competency to inspect drainage to NR/L3/CIV/005/3A Railway Drainage System Manual- Inspection standards.
It is essential that you have the following design and CAD skills:
• Existing railway drainage assessment and capacity analysis and reports
• Catchment area and volume of rainwater assessment
• Hydraulics analysis and design of pipes and catch-pits
• Ground percolation analysis and design
• Flow rate analysis
• Outfall capacity analysis and design
• Generation of drainage long sections, plans and section in Microstation design format from the design output.
You will be efficient in the use of Bentley Civils Storm and Microstation V8i to design railway drainage, and produce drainage drawings in accordance with Network Rail approvals process. A holder of valid Personal Track Safety Certificate, appreciation and knowledge of permanent way design and construction.
You will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate designs in meetings with the Client and Project teams; you will also have the ability to use suite of Microsoft Office products; and have an enthusiastic approach to collaborative working.
