Train Control (Signallers) Team

Brookfield Rail's Train Control (Signallers) team form an integral part of our business, with primary responsibility for the safe, economical and effective monitoring and control of train services on all sections of the Brookfield Rail network.
Due to current/future growth in the Train Signallers team in Midland, we are seeking to develop and maintain a pool of candidates for consideration who are highly motivated, organised and safety-focussed, ideally with experience in rail operations.
In this role, Train Signallers are required to:
• Monitor and control movement of trains, on-track equipment and staff working on the rail corridor to achieve optimal safety, performance and cost effectivess;
• Operate the centralised traffic control system and ensure the safe and economical working of trains in signalled and Train Order territory;
• Contact and direct the appropriate authorities in the event of locomotive failures, derailments or accidents;
• Implement alternate working to ensure continued train running in the event of signal failures.
To be successful in this role you must possess:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Strong organisational and analytical skills;
• Resilience and ability to stay calm in an emergency;
• Flexibility to work a rotating shift work roster covering 24/7 operations.
Rail operations or train control experience is highly desirable.
You will also be required to successfully pass (and maintain) the health assessment requirements in accordance with the National Standards for Rail Safety Workers.
