The Company

Our client is a specialist in vehicle building, electrical installations, overhaul and servicing of Rolling Stock where they work closely with a variety of well-known clients throughout the UK. Currently going through a high recruitment drive they are winning bundles of work and have long term contracts to perform servicing, exams, modification and refurbishments. The doors are now open for experienced Rolling Stock professionals from a vehicle building discipline for this exciting project!

The Candidate:

Looking for your next long-term contract? Looks like you are in luck today! Our client is hiring for their overhaul/refurbishment project! The ideal candidate will possess strong Interior Vehicle Building skills and come from a Rolling Stock or high-quality fitting background working on, buses, coaches, boats or bespoke interiors where you will have carried out removal and installation of interior panels, components & fittings to a very high standard.

The Role:

As a Vehicle Builder you will be working alongside the Electrical Fitters who will be running cables and installing power, you will be tasked with removing all ceiling panels, luggage racks, seats and paneling for the Electrical Fitters to come in and do their job before the more thoughtful task of replacing all the components that you have just removed. You will be expected to read technical drawings and return all panels which may involve trimming and adjusting to size, be it new or existing to the vehicle in a condition that will be fit for customer use.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the quality of your previous interior work and hold an engineering qualification to a level 2 or 3 as a minimum, although extensive experience of interior vehicle building on rolling stock or coaches would also be considered. You must be able to pass a medical that includes sight / hearing and a drug and alcohol test.

Rate of pay: £20 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday - 50 hours per week
