Field Sales Manager in Stoke-on-Trent, Midlands and North, United Kingdom

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting for a Field Sales Manager for our client, a market leading manufacture of network access products for the rail industry.
Location (s):
Nationwide (Northern England preferred). Remote working available.
Role and responsibilities:
- Create and foster relationships, with a focus towards asset owners, design engineers and contractors. This role will involve a large amount of travel, visiting customers and prospective customers at their offices, and on site when necessary.
- Assist with the development of commercial strategy to achieve and surpass sales targets and the company’s strategic objectives.
- Identify key trends, opportunities and risks within the market and communicate them to your line manager.
- Provide sector specific knowledge and training to customers, and ensure the products are to their specifications.
- Work with new and existing clients to develop bespoke engineering solutions and help with cost saving and design.
- Gain knowledge on the manufacturing side of the business, and their products, so that you are able to offer expert advice to existing and potential clients.
- Use your accumulated knowledge and customer feedback to assist in product design and development.
The Candidate
- Candidate must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and have previous experience using CRM systems.
- Must be used to client facing activities and building relationships with people from all walks of life.
- Candidate must be experienced in budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral.
- Proven sales and/or engineering experience and a strong track record within the rail sector.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with clients and team members.
- Must have a good understanding of frameworks and contracts.
- Extensive account management and sales experience (desirable).
- Experience in identifying and delivering new business opportunities (desirable).
