Sales Account Manager
Up to £50k basic + OTE up to £80k + Car Allowance + full benefits
Remote – This is a field-based role (South East of England) with occasional travel to the Bristol Head Office
Our Transport team delivers programmes that improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and make transport more sustainable. Ranging from Clean Air Zones to Smart Cities, ANPR enforcement systems through logistics management, our solutions empower transport planners and managers to improve the urban environment for everyone.
We’re now looking for Sales Account Managers to support and accelerate our growth plans, taking our Transport offering to the next level across our South-Eastern territories. You’ll work from home, visit customers across your territory, and occasionally join us at our Bristol head office.
You’ll identify, develop and nurture long-term relationships with key decision makers in local authorities and public sector organisations across the UK and beyond. You’ll be able to see the big picture, taking a consultative, strategic approach to working on key accounts, adding value to your customer, SEA, and the future of local transport for all.

About the job:
The Sales Account Manager will be fully responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing key customer accounts within their territory; for building a sales pipeline across those accounts and delivering those sales through to contract award. This will be a pivotal role working at all levels of the company and developing the business ensuring excellence is achieved through providing utmost customer care and communication.
- Take full ownership and accountability for Order Intake from their territory within or spanning the civil and criminal enforcement camera markets, road and rail logistics software systems, and smart city solutions.
- Develop, forecast and deliver a pipeline of orders through the application of strategic account planning, prospecting and opportunity qualification, capture planning, bidding, and closing solution-based sales.
- Write/review successful proposal/bid/enquiry responses from a variety of stakeholders, ensuring consistency of the responses in terms of customer hot buttons, themes and key messages and focused on value rather than price.
- Achieve high-levels of customer intimacy, leading to valuable account and market intelligence, and leverage this to proactively identify risks, opportunities and issues, to deliver the business growth.
- Deliver and report on a high level of sales energy and meticulously record and share customer engagement details and account intelligence.
- Up-selling and leveraging business from new and established customer relationships
The right person:
- You will be an experienced field-based Sales Account Manager with a professional, collaborative approach to building customer relationships to grow the sales pipeline
- You'll bring experience of, or contacts within the rail sector, ideally via Network Rail, Transport for London, or relevant similar organisations
- Experience and training in value-based solution-selling and effective negotiation techniques.
- Technically competent, able to rapidly assimilate the key product and solution attributes and establish the market drivers and customer buying vision.
- Experience of managing accounts and developing business with local and national public bodies in the road and rail industries and in the engineering domain would be beneficial.
- Full accountability for achieving your sales target.
- A strong team player, able to work constructively with your colleagues in the interest of achieving the business objectives.
- You will need a full clean driving licence as you will be required to visit customers across your Territory
