Location:
Doncaster with occasional site travel.
Salary / Benefits: £55,000 - £75,000 dependant on level of experience plus

Summary
A successful rail infrastructure contractor specialising in track installation and railway manufacturing is looking to take on a Sales & Commercial Estimating Manager to develop and grow existing and new areas of business for their UK manufacturing facilities
Key responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to expand the business, including through partnerships, alliances and development of new and existing markets.
- Analyse sales, marketing, finance and other information to gain insights into how to improve performance and maximize growth.
- Develop accurate and consistent quotations, bids and tenders with the help of relevant departments.
- (Added v2) Manage one commercial estimator in the pursuit of creating timely quotes, bids and tenders
- Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients.
- Manage daily operations including contract negotiations
- Research prospective accounts in target markets, pursue leads and follow through to a successful outcome.
- Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and develop market strategies that can be used to attract clients.
- Collaborate with design and sales teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within the area of responsibility.
- Work with the manufacturing units to develop sales forecasting and mix / volume analysis.
- Standardise cost estimating processes to ensure information submissions for quotations, bids and tenders is accurate and timely.
- Develop processes for generating accurate manufacturing cost build ups.
- Regularly review factory charge out rates to ensure accuracy and lowest cost production.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree level in a relevant manufacturing / commercial discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
- Demonstrable experience of leading a manufacturing commercial function with a proven track record in delivering effective commercial strategies, policies, processes and systems.
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements.
- Proven product and industry knowledge.
- Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of manufacturing / commercial processes, components and techniques.
Desirable
- Experience working in the railway sector.
