Sales and Bid Analyst in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom
Lead the production of revenue and order intake budgeting, forecasting and monthly / quarterly reporting including KPI’s. Analysis of the sales pipeline to support the Sales function and bid planning.
Undertake regular competitor offering and price / cost benchmarking working with the sales, bids and delivery functions in order to influence Sales and Bid strategy enabling the company to produce competitive, deliverable bids.
Lead ad hoc analytical project work to support Sales & Bid Team.

Key Activities/Elements
1. Lead the production of revenue and order intake budgeting, forecasting and monthly / quarterly reporting including KPI’s working with the Finance, Sales, Bids and Projects teams.
2. Work with the sales teams to review the sales pipeline and other CRM data and produce analysis to support sales, bid planning and capture strategy.
3. Undertake cost, price and quality benchmarking analysis to assist with bid development.
4. Conduct market research to understand current conditions in our target markets. Monitor and assess our competitors offering including but not limited to Products, Services, Sustainability, Innovation and Pricing
5. Produce regular reports, with recommendations and presentations to the Management team to influence the Sales and Bid tactics and Strategy.
6. Supporting analytical work to assist the interpretation of Customer requirements and development of appropriate bid strategy together with the timely planning and completion of Expressions of Interest, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Bid Documentation and Quotes as required by the Business
7. Assist with the compilation, update and maintenance of the library of company standard tender documentation and maintaining records relating to submissions and successes.
8. Assist as required with other Ad-hoc work in support of the Sales, Bid and Marketing teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
- Part / Newly Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA) or equivalent Degree qualification in numerate/financial discipline. Study support available.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in an analytical role.
- Some additional relevant experience would be an advantage, for example from within Rail sector or from a bid / sales planning function but candidates could successfully transition from other sectors / business functions.
- Strong command of both spoken and written English.

- Expert MS Office skills, including Excel and Powerpoint
- Report and Presentation writing skills

- Ability for some travel between company sites, customer locations and for events.
