 The OKMS is a software-based, cyber-secure telecoms system used by train drivers to log into operational systems. While the solution has strong software and cyber-security elements, this is not a pure software role. A telecoms engineering background is essential. Civils or signalling-only backgrounds are unlikely to be suitable. 
 
 The OKMS scope represents approximately 40-50% of the workload; however, candidates with a strong telecoms background will be able to support the role full time.

Are you an experienced rail SISS Telecoms Design Engineer looking for a role where you can genuinely take ownership of your designs? Do you enjoy working on station upgrades, Access for All schemes and new rail infrastructure projects?Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 DOE Location: Derby, in office 3 days per week.Due to a strong and growing project pipeline, a well-established rail SME design and build contractor is looking to appoint a SISS/Telecoms Design Engineer into their multidisciplinary team based in Derby.You will be a key contributor for their SISS work, delivering high-quality designs for station upgrades, Access for All (AFA) schemes, and new build projects.
