Job PurposeCivils / Cabling Supervisor with experience of working across multiple telecoms operators The role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of civils and cabling works, while supporting commercial control through accurate planning, reporting of variations, and cost-conscious site delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Construction &amp; PlanningWork closely with the commercial team on receipt of tender and construction drawings, providing input on:<ul><li>Labour requirements</li><li>Plant and equipment</li><li>Materials and subcontractor needs</li><li>Survey works to determine:</li><li>Installation methodology</li><li>Traffic management requirements</li><li>Access constraints and risks</li><li>Liaise with local authorities to identify constraints, approvals, and site-specific requirements</li><li>Demonstrate working knowledge of the BT Openreach PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) portal, interrogating network data to supportroute planning and installation methodology</li></ul>Traffic Management &amp; Street Works<ul><li>Liaise with traffic management contractors to ensure TM plans are prepared in accordance with installation requirements and NRSWA regulations</li><li>Hold NRSWA accreditation and ensure street works compliance at all times</li></ul>Use Street Manager to:<ul><li>Submit permits</li><li>Manage permit conditions</li><li>Monitor applications from submission through to closure</li><li>Submit works measures on completion</li></ul>Monitor and manage:<ul><li>Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs)</li><li>Section 74 overruns</li><li>Inspections and defect notices</li></ul>Health, Safety &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Prepare and manage RAMS for both civils and cabling works</li><li>Ensure all sites have correct SLG (Signing, Lighting &amp; Guarding) in place</li><li>Conduct daily site inspections and ensure:</li><li>POWRAs (Point of Works Risk Assessments)</li><li>Permits to Dig</li><li>Manhole Entry Permits</li><li>Site Diaries</li><li>Other required documentation are completed accurately and on time</li><li>Ensure correct plant and equipment are used and that safety equipment such as:</li><li>GDU (Gas Detection Units)</li><li>CAT &amp; Genny are available, used correctly, and suitably calibrated</li><li>Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with company, client, and statutory H&amp;S requirements</li></ul>Site Supervision &amp; Delivery<ul><li>Manage and supervise civils and cabling teams on site</li><li>Ensure works are delivered in accordance with:</li><li>Approved drawings</li><li>Method statements</li><li>Client-specific standards</li><li>Record and report daily site variations, risks, and changes, feeding information back to the commercial department on a daily basis</li><li>Order required plant, materials, and equipment to support site activities</li><li>Ensure productivity, quality, and programme targets are met</li></ul>Operator-Specific Requirements<ul><li>Ensure cabling teams are fully briefed on operator-specific working requirements, including but not limited to:</li><li>COLT requirements:</li><li>Photographs taken of each chamber prior to works commencing</li><li>Visual risk assessment completed to identify potential issues (e.g. damaged cables or fibre joints)</li><li>Photographs taken of chambers on completion of works</li><li>Ensure works comply with each operator’s standards and approval processes</li></ul>Quality, As-Builts &amp; Handover<ul><li>Capture accurate as-built information during installation</li><li>Submit as-built data to the CAD Engineer for preparation of final drawings</li><li>Support quality inspections, snagging, and handover activities</li></ul>Client &amp; Stakeholder Management<ul><li>Liaise with clients during weekly progress calls</li><li>Attend meetings with local authorities where required</li><li>Act as a professional on-site representative of the company at all times</li><li>Escalate issues, risks, and programme impacts to the Project Manager</li></ul>Skills &amp; ExperienceEssential<ul><li>Proven experience supervising telecoms civils and cabling works</li><li>Experience working across multiple operators&nbsp;</li><li>Strong understanding of:</li><li>NRSWA and Street Works</li><li>Traffic Management requirements</li><li>BT Openreach PIA</li><li>Experience using Street Manager</li><li>Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications</li><li>Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills</li></ul>Desirable<ul><li>Experience working for Tier 1 telecoms contractors</li><li>Knowledge of live network environments</li><li>Experience managing multiple work fronts</li></ul>&nbsp;

We have an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Lead Project Engineer in CIS within their Rail Infrastructure business.As a Lead Project Engineer, you will take ownership of the engineering delivery for defined work packages across one or more projects.&nbsp;You will ensure engineering requirements, standards, safety obligations, and customer expectations are fully met throughout the delivery lifecycle.You will often act as the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) on medium‑scale projects or lead engineering packages on larger programmes, coordinating multi‑disciplinary inputs, managing technical risk and ensuring robust integration, testing and assurance.&nbsp;This role is pivotal in the successful delivery of our CIS (Communications &amp; Information Systems) solutions.Daily Tasks will include:&nbsp; Leading the engineering delivery of work packages or serving as PEM on medium projects, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, cost, and safety objectives are achieved. Developing, maintaining, and executing the Project Engineering Management Plan (PEMP), tailoring engineering governance to project complexity.Driving engineering lifecycle activities: requirements capture, system design, integration, testing, V&amp;V, and commissioning readiness.
