Why Amey?

Amey is one of the largest providers of railway engineering design and construction services in the UK, including high-safety and high-availability railway signalling. Signalling technology is rapidly evolving with increasing digitisation, intelligence, and use of commercial off the shelf (COTS) technology. Amey is leading this evolution in the UK and is seeking an engineer or technologist to support our digital railway innovation.

Suitable candidates might either have knowledge and experience of industrial computer-based automation or experience designing and implementing condition monitoring systems or perhaps already have railway signalling systems experience. Both recent graduates and those that are mid-career and seeking a change of direction are encouraged to apply and tell us how they can help Amey shape the digital future of railway signalling. In return, Amey will provide a training and mentorship programme tailored to your specific development needs and career level. Our ambition is to progress you to become an Institution of Railway Signalling (IRSE) licensed signalling project engineer and a subject matter expert.

This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join Amey’s rail delivery team and develop the next generation of railway signalling. Working alongside some of the best signalling engineers in the industry, you will be an integral part of our team. You will be given the freedom to perform to your potential, maximise your engineering creativity and showcase your talents to the railway industry. Amey is a nationwide employer so the role location is flexible and there will be a mix of home working with a limited amount of working across the UK with our clients and technology partners.
