As they are a constantly growing global market my client is looking to add to their UK safety assurance team in the Midlands. The Principal Safety Assurance Manager will perform the role of Safety Assurance Manager on large projects / schemes or product introductions. He manages, performs and ensures the activities related to safety assurance are applied in the Projects and Programs (products and systems).
Ensuring that all allocated projects and UK product introduction activities meet all necessary legislative and safety requirements and responsibilities.
Aspects of Engineering Safety Management including:
- Coordinate all the Safety Assurance activities on the project / system / product. Perform Safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review RAM, VI&T, T&C activities from a Safety perspective
- Build the Safety Reports and the Safety Case
- Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the project / system / product
- Support periodic Safety Reviews and DFQ Gate reviews in order to maintain a consistent approach with Safety Assurance
- Defend Safety Case argumentation's in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close the findings of the assessor
- Manage (if any) the Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project / system / product
- Provide engineering safety assurance to large and complex application projects or product introductions as Safety Assurance Manager for the project ...But obviously not limited to.
Good interpersonal and communication skills required with the ability to manage own time and that of the team to meet project deadlines , Risk assessment and Audit skills are also required. The ability to interface with railway industry and safety leaders in a competent professional manner retaining the companies safety and commercial interest would be advantageous.
