The role

We are seeking to recruit a Principle Signalling Designer within our signalling design team working from home, but travelling to the office twice a week, which is located in Swindon. The successful candidate will undertake, verify and/or lead the production of signalling design as part of a dedicated signalling design team in Swindon, however other locations may be considered for the right candidate. They must be able to work as part of a team or with limited supervision and be able to supervise the work of other staff when required (i.e. provide mentorship of junior staff).

In a typical week you will:

• Undertake outline and detailed principles signalling designs and reports
• Undertake the independent verification of signalling designs and reports
• Aid in the development of junior team members
• Keep up to date with current NR, RSSB and British standards relevant to signalling design
• Contribute to the production and maintenance of statutory risk assessments and registers

• IRSE principle designer licence holder
• IRSE verifiers licence holder
• Strong knowledge of signalling principles
• Good communications and team working skills
• Leadership experience
• Experience of acting as CRE
• Institution membership; IRSE, IET etc
• Institution registration; IEng, CEng etc (desirable)
• PTS
