Job title: Requirements / Systems Integration Engineer (Train Bourne Signalling)
Job location: Derby
Salary: £Negotiable DOE
Shifts: 4 on 4 off (flexibility for days & nights required)
Hours per week: Up to 40 hours per week

Position Summary:
System Integration Engineer for Automatic Train Protection (ATP) System, responsible for the conceptual design and implementation of train control and protection systems, as well as their integration into Bombardier's different vehicle types, from locomotives to passenger trains.
Systems include:
European Train Control System (ETCS) in our locomotive fleet, including the integration of the specific national safety systems, when applicable (e.g CBTC, TPWS, AWS)
Key responsibilities:
Define the Concept, Functional Requirements, Software Requirements and Test Specification
Give the necessary input for System Schematics and Bill of Material for all the ATP subsystems
Define and develop the appropriate technical solutions to integrate the ATP system fulfilling the international requirements in force (UNISIG) and the specific customer requirements (public and private operators)
Design the electrical, mechanical, SW and HW interfaces between ATP system and vehicle
Define and develop the safety, reliability and maintenance requirements
Support technically the Procurement department in the design and definition of the ATP systems supplied by third parties (internal and external)
Support and when necessary participate in the ATP-vehicle integration tests in field and the country specific authorization processes
Qualifications:
University or College Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or Computer science is highly desirable
Skills and Attributes:
Rail industry background is desirable
Experience in the development and integration of control systems in railway industry is desirable
Design and integration of on-board Automatic Train Protection systems is also highly desirable
Knowledge of ERTMS/ETCS highly preferred
Team player, autonomous and solution-oriented
English language skills at a professional proficiency level is necessary
Good communication and technical writing skills with ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment
